Over 30 Years in Vehicle Tracking

Long before it became fashionable.

Before GPS tracking became a buzzword, we were already building and installing systems for emergency services and vehicle recovery operators across the UK.

This isn’t something we’ve just got into—it’s something we’ve spent decades doing properly.

Where It Started

Although we are now a small, family-run operation, the people behind MTS were previously the founders and directors of one of the UK’s largest suppliers of data transmission and tracking equipment, to parts of the emergency service.

Our systems were used in real-world, high-pressure environments—where reliability wasn’t optional.

The Early Days of Tracking

In the early days, there were no off-the-shelf tracking devices—you had to design and build your own.

We worked with UK electronics companies including Phoenix Systems in Fareham, who we still work with today.

Systems relied on networks like Mobitex and Vodafone Packnet—long before modern GSM and internet-based tracking became standard.

During the London bombings in July 2005, the Mobitex network we used was the only radio data network that remained fully operational.

What Matters Today

Modern hardware is widely available—but what really matters is:

That’s where experience still makes the difference.

How We Work

We monitor our systems and often spot issues before they become problems.

Many settings can be adjusted remotely without needing to touch the unit.

And unlike many providers, all of this is included in your monthly cost.
